F-1 Requirements That Correlate with Academics:
- Attend all courses as it is a requirement for remaining in good status as an F-1 student.
- Be registered as a full-time student – Undergraduate (12 credits); Graduate (6 credits); ITM, DAT, and SACM-sponsored Graduate (9 credits).
- Any below full-time registration must be approved by an academic advisor and ISS in SEVIS BEFORE dropping or withdrawing from a class.
- A SEVIS record may be terminated if the student drops below full-time registration without approval.
- Graduate Requirement: Only one online course (3 credits) can count toward a full-time enrollment each term. Ex. 9 credits of on-campus class and 3 credits of online class meets the full-time enrollment requirement.
- Undergraduate Requirement: Students must be in full-time status at all times, meaning that they always need to be enrolled in 12 credits, and 9 of those credits must be in-person.
- If you are considering dropping or withdrawing from a course, please reach out to your Academic Advisor.
