On-Campus Employment

F-1 students are permitted to work on-campus. On-campus work is not required to relate to your major or program. Students may find a job by attending the on-campus job fairs and consulting the Handshake job board. 

Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is an off-campus employment option available to F1 students when the training is considered an integral part of the establish curriculum and directly related to the student's major or program of study. CPT is available during a course/program of study and must be authorized for a specific employer. The "training" may be in the form of paid/unpaid employment, internship, or training.
Optional Practical Training (OPT)
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is an off-campus training benefit available to F1 students after program completion. Students are eligible for OPT for one year.

Students in certain STEM majors, may be eligible for a 24-month STEM OPT Extension.
